Trouser Fit 01

Coup Trouser

A high-rise fatigue trouser with a generous top block, large patch pockets and a gradual taper below the knee.

The Coup Trouser is one of the longest-running shapes in the Far Afield trouser range. For AW26 the block retains its high rise and generous seat and thigh, while the lower leg has been refined to narrow gradually below the knee and finish with a shallow break over the shoe.

Its construction draws on fatigue trousers. Large front patch pockets sit flat against the leg, balanced by buttoned flap pockets at the back. This season it is cut from garment-washed 360gsm 3/1 cotton twill, a substantial cloth with enough body to hold the pocket shape and the line of the leg. A fixed waistband, YKK zip fly and corozo fastening keep the top block clean and purposeful.

Trouser Fit 02

Mira Trouser

A double-pleated trouser with a long line, fuller top block and gradual taper.

The Mira Trouser develops the Double Pleated shape from SS26 into a longer AW26 trouser. The cropped, broad-legged proportion has been extended to full length, with double forward pleats opening the top block through the hip and thigh before the leg narrows gradually from the knee to the hem.

The added length gives the pleats more room to fall vertically and creates a cleaner line through the lower leg. Cut from brushed cotton twill, it is finished with a fixed waistband, hook-and-eye closure, YKK metal zip and rear welt pockets. The result is a full-length pleated trouser with shape through the front and room through the thigh.

Trouser Fit 03

Dekk Trouser

A relaxed tapered trouser with a clean front, elasticated back waistband and ankle-length finish.

Introduced in SS26, the Dekk Trouser has been adjusted for AW26 with more room through the hip and thigh and additional length through the leg. The taper runs steadily from thigh to hem, with the longer inseam now finishing around the ankle.

The waistband gives Dekk its distinct fit: clean and flat from the front, with elastic through the back adding ease through the waist. For AW26 the cloth has moved to 100% cotton ripstop, bringing a dry handle and subtle grid to the surface. YKK fly, corozo fastening, slanted front pockets, a small coin pocket and rear welt pocket complete the construction.

Trouser Fit 04 · New / Online Exclusive

Chambers Trouser

A new corduroy trouser with a mid rise, regular top block and gentle taper below the knee.

New for AW26 and available exclusively online, the Chambers Trouser introduces a neater, more regular proportion to the range. The mid rise sits lower than Coup or Dekk, the thigh sits closer to the body, and the leg narrows gently from the knee to the hem.

It is cut from substantial 320gsm 4.5-wale cotton corduroy. The broad wale gives the cloth visible structure, while a fixed waistband, antique-silver YKK zip, corozo fastening, slanted front pockets and buttoned rear welt pockets keep the construction clean. The result is a regular-proportioned cord trouser with a modest taper and a clear, uninterrupted line through the leg.

Fundamentals Fit

House Trouser

The permanent drawstring trouser: relaxed through the top block with a full, straight leg and open hem.

The House Trouser forms the permanent trouser reference within Fundamentals: an elasticated drawstring waist, easy seat and thigh, and a full straight leg that stays open through the hem.

Cut from 360gsm cotton panama canvas and garment-washed for a softer handle, it retains enough weight to hold the straight leg cleanly. The construction includes a YKK zip fly, slanted front pockets, a coin pocket set into the pocket bag and buttoned rear welt pockets. Its elasticated drawstring waistband, roomy top block and full leg make it the most relaxed fit in the guide.

Fit terms

Rise
The distance through the crotch to the waistband, which determines where the trouser sits on the body and sets the balance between waist, seat and leg.
Top block
The area through the waist, seat and upper thigh. Two trousers can share a similar hem width and still feel completely different because the volume starts higher up.
Taper
The reduction in width from thigh or knee towards the hem. A gradual taper keeps volume in the upper leg; a stronger taper makes the lower leg read noticeably narrower.
Break
The fold created where the trouser meets the shoe. A shallow break gives a clean line over the shoe; additional length creates more stacking and movement at the hem.
Forward pleat
A pleat that opens towards the fly. It introduces volume at the front of the trouser and gives the top block additional room through the hip and thigh.
Fatigue pocket
A large external patch pocket associated with military utility trousers. Because it sits on the outside of the garment, the pocket becomes part of the visual architecture of the leg.
Elasticated-back waistband
A hybrid waistband with a flat front and elastic through the back. Dekk uses this construction to combine a clean front with additional ease through the waist.
Wale
The raised vertical rib of corduroy. A lower wale count means broader ribs: Chambers uses a substantial 4.5-wale cord with a pronounced surface and visible depth.
